Samares comes to Solarpraxis

24 - 25 February 2011

Fabio Tassara, SAMARES Marketing & Sales Manager, attended the third edition of the Solar Industry Conference, joining the debate on "Photovoltaics: operation, monitoring and maintenance".

On 24 and 25 February, the Sheraton Golf Parco de' Medici hotel hosted the third Solar Industry Conference, a conference/convention exploring the hot topics in the world of energy. As for the photovoltaic sector, the issues discussed were: analysing the main European markets (focussing on Italy); the right level of incentivisation for the Feed-in Tariff; a comparison between different market analyses and the short- and medium-term outlook; assessing the technical and economic effectiveness of remote monitoring and maintenance; financial mechanisms and contractual matters; the recent industry initiatives and experiences with materials recycling; the development of certification systems for installers; "grid parity" and the problem of administrative barriers; integrating "smart grids" and the prospects for the industries in this segment. The event was promoted by Solarpraxis, the leading conference organiser in the renewable energy sector.

Fabio Tassara, Samares Marketing & Sales Manager, gave a presentation about New Generation Control (NGC) and O&M efficiency, showing the benefits of using an advanced monitoring system, such as maximising system performance and minimising maintenance costs.

Based on data gathered from Samares systems monitoring 70MWp-worth of installations, Mr Tassara was able to estimate the economic benefits from using NGC systems at individual installation level, and therefore comprehensively to demonstrate the value of this new approach, generating considerable interest from attendees in the process. The event proved to be a perfect opportunity to get a snapshot of what's new in the market and the latest technology solutions available. The networking was also excellent, with key players in the solar industry in attendance.
